Free paper The Bedokian Portfolio and the US Market

This paper looks at the scenario of The Bedokian Portfolio being implemented in
the US markets. Using an online backtesting tool called Portfolio Visualizer

(www.portfoliovisualizer.com), The Bedokian Portfolio’s performance is
measured with metrics commonly used to gauge portfolio returns and risk.

Using the same said tool, it is also compared with other well-known asset
allocation portfolios such as the traditional Stocks/Bonds 60/40, The Bogleheads
Three Fund, The Permanent Portfolio, etc. Two different permutations of The
Bedokian Portfolio using different sub-asset classes are also tested and
compared.

  3. Hi Matthew,

Good questions you have there, but unfortunately I cannot give you good and definite answers. The markets are volatile now and do not seem to conform with the standard cycles. For me I would adopt a reactive stance and maintain my portfolio according to my desired allocation.

As for the next financial crisis, no one really knows when it is coming, or whether it will happen at all. Talks of a 08/09 crash level have been going on for the past 10 years, but it did not happen (yet). Depending on how much and how long you have invested, you can relook at some of your current holdings and average up. This can apply to REITs, too, if you have bought some at the old prices, you can add more provided your assessment of the REIT(s) in question is still financially healthy.

Hope the above helps. Feel free to ask or comment further.

    Cheers!
    Bedokian

    1. Hi Kevin,

Thank you for the feedback and support.

Apologies as I am using the free version of the document hosting site, which has a 50MB daily limit as stated in the error message. As the eBook was just launched, it is anticipated that the download volume would be heavy, therefore the bandwidth limit is reached within a short time.

You may want to try again tomorrow or the next few days as I expect the download volume to taper off within then.

      Cheers!
